An MOT test is something that every vehicle has to go through once it’s over three years old. It’s designed to ensure that the vehicle is in good working order and is safe to be on the road, not only for yourself but for other road users as well. Here at Vital Vehicle Care we are your Peterborough MOT experts and you can rest assured that your vehicle is in safe hands.
You can get your vehicle tested one day short of a calendar month prior to the expiry date, effectively providing you with a 13 month MOT.
We can test your vehicle while you wait. Usually this will take between 45 minutes and 1 hour, and we have a comfortable waiting area with refreshments to make the time fly by.
Once your test is complete, we will inform you if there were any faults or weaknesses that were identified.
If you’re unlucky this time around and your car doesn’t pass its test, we have courtesy cars available for you to use while your own vehicle is repaired and retested.

The majority of vehicles tested at Vital Vehicle Care pass the first time. However, on occasion it is necessary to carry out some remedial work in order to declare the vehicle roadworthy for another year.
If this happens and your car does fail its MOT test Peterborough, we will advise you of the repairs required and provide you with a quote. It is then your choice as to whether you instruct us to proceed with the repairs.
As part of our MOT testing service in Peterborough, if your car does fail, we offer a free retest if it is carried out within 10 days of the original test. We also have courtesy cars available should you require one.
At Vital Vehicle Care we have over 20 years of experience and are a family-run business. We are proud to offer a personal service to suit your requirements and have worked with many local people and businesses in the Peterborough area.
The date your MOT runs out should be printed on your current certificate. If you’ve already booked a test with us but forgot the date or time, get in touch with us.
If possible, bring both your previous year’s test certificate and V5C Vehicle Registration Document. If you can’t find either of these, please contact us, and we will be happy to assist.
If your vehicle does not have an up to date MOT certificate, you can only drive it to and from a pre-arranged test appointment. You can be fined up to £1,000 for driving a vehicle without a valid MOT.
You will be given a reason why your MOT failed. If necessary, make sure you book your car in for any remedial work and rebook your MOT. If you are having repairs done after failing the test, you will only be allowed to drive your car to a pre-arranged appointment.
